Open Campus Information
Participate in the Open Campus and experience the atmosphere of the university campus firsthand!
There are also many events, such as mock classes that you can imagine after entering the school, and tours by university students’ older brothers and sisters! There are also opportunities for 1st and 2nd graders and parents to participate! Let’s actively participate and learn more about the university of your dreams! Also, at the school festival, you can experience a university that is a little different from the open campus!
* The listed dates are subject to change without advance or advance reservations may be required, so please contact each university in advance.
3 Steps to Open Campus
Let’s search by university name and convenient schedule! In some cases, multiple universities hold open campuses in one day. But don’t worry! In Kyoto, the distance between university campuses is close, so it is possible to visit multiple campuses! It is also helpful to check the “Kyoto’s Learning Style,” a Kyoto academic information magazine published by the University Consortium Kyoto.
Once you’ve decided which university to go to, do some research on it. Each university has a full range of entrance examination information sites, so be sure to check them out! In addition to the site, there are many universities that accept requests for materials, so it may be a good idea to order them.
My first visit to a university campus. What should I bring to the Open Campus? What kind of clothes should I wear? Let’s check it out!
□ Writing utensils and notepads
Write down what you heard from the university so you don’t miss it! It’s also important to check the notes and look back on them when you get home! Writing utensils and notepads are a must.
□ A bag that can hold A4 size materials
Universities often distribute materials, so bring a bag that holds A4 size materials.
□ Clothing
It doesn’t matter if you wear a uniform or plain clothes. However, make sure you choose appropriate clothing that will not cause discomfort to the university. Also, since you will be walking around the campus a lot, choose shoes that you are familiar with.
□ Heat stroke prevention goods
Open campuses are often held during the summer vacation, when it is easy for Mr./Ms. high school students to participate. When you are touring the campus, you will be exposed to a lot of sunlight, so it is essential to take measures against heat stroke in the hot summer. Bring a hat and drinking water. In addition, in recent years, there have been hot days around October, so complacency is a great enemy.
□ Map & Contacts
Make a note of the map and contact information in case you get lost on the day of the event or are likely to be late for the class you have booked. If you are a university in Kyoto City, you can also use the Kyoto walking map of “Kyoto Sightseeing Navi”.
