“The 2nd Kyoto High School and University Connection Regional Network Program”
Is your college advertising? Public relations? What is student recruitment PR that makes a difference?

The 2nd Kyoto High School and University Connection Regional Network Program

“Is your university an advertisement or a public relations company?” What is student recruitment PR that makes a difference?”

As the population of 18-year-olds continues to decline, the role of public relations in universities is becoming increasingly important. With the spread of SNS, work has diversified, and there are cases where the purpose of public relations work has become the purpose of implementation due to its busy schedule.
The aim of this program is to grasp the overall picture of public relations, and to objectively recognize whether the work you are working on is “advertising” or “public relations” and what the purpose of each work is.
In addition, we will think about the purpose and stakeholders of “open campus,” “high school visits,” and “media advertisements (booklets, web/SNS, videos, etc.),” and recognize the differences between our own university and other universities’ student recruitment publicity through group work, and think about the optimal solution.
We look forward to your active participation.

【For University Faculty and Staff】2024 SD Joint Training Program
Applications are now being accepted for the “Situation of Higher Education for University Staff (Basics)”.

*In principle, this lecture will have the same training content as the one at the start of the 2023 academic year.

Education policy is showing a movement to question the very nature of universities. Looking back, the revision of the standards for establishing universities in April last year was unprecedentedly broad, and universities were busy responding to them. What is happening in the current situation surrounding higher education? How did this happen? What about the past? By understanding these things correctly, we may be able to see the future or find hints.
In this lecture, I would like to decipher the situation surrounding higher education and changes in educational policy, and make it a place to look ahead to tomorrow and create the future. We hope that everyone who has taken this lecture will be able to play an active role as a leader in university reform after returning to their home universities.

Overview

In the midst of the rapidly declining birthrate, the ideal state of universities is also being discussed by the Central Council of Education. What kind of society will it be in the future, and what role should universities play in it? What kind of policy thinking is required to achieve this, and what is required of senior managers, faculty and staff, including presidents, who are promoting reforms at individual universities? In addition to introducing some of the discussions of the Central Council on Education, we will also introduce the latest survey results on the leadership of the President.
