About the 19th Kyoto Student Festival

The Kyoto Student Festival is a major event that has been held every October since 2003 in the Okazaki Promenade area in front of Heian Jingu Shrine, and has attracted more than 100,000 visitors. It is a student-produced festival that can only be done by university students studying in Kyoto, a student town where 10% of the population is students.

On November 25, 2020, the Executive Committee of the 19th Kyoto Student Festival was newly established, and the theme of the 19th Kyoto Student Festival was also decided. I would like to pursue the form of a festival that can only be done in Kyoto, a city of students, and enliven Kyoto.

The 19th Kyoto Student Festival Theme

About the theme

Kyoto is a region that has preserved its ancient traditions. However, we are standing at the turn of the times, with the spread of the new coronavirus infection and the demand for a new way of life. Through this festival, we want to connect the culture that has been passed down so far with the culture that is born from the new normal. And by having people come into contact with the culture, we want to protect and connect all Kyoto culture to the future.

keyword

“Regional Co-Creation”

Together with various student organizations and local residents, we would like to enliven Kyoto through the experience of experiencing all kinds of Kyoto culture.

The 19th Kyoto Student Festival

Date Sunday, October 10, 2021 11:00-19:00
Hybrid offline and online events
(planned)
Organizer Kyoto Student Festival Executive Committee
Co-organizers Kyoto Student Festival Organizing Committee (Kyoto Prefecture / Kyoto City / Kyoto Chamber of Commerce and Industry / Kyoto Association of Corporate Executives / University Consortium Kyoto)

Outline of the project

At the 19th Kyoto Student Festival, we are thinking of a festival that suits the With Corona era so that the Kyoto Student Festival will continue to be a festival loved not only by people in Kyoto but also by people all over the country. In order to prevent the spread of new coronavirus infections, it is scheduled to be held in a hybrid format that combines online and offline. Taking advantage of the advantages of online and offline, we aim to create a new festival that can be participated in and impressed anywhere in the country.

Main

We solicited applications for the main visuals of the 19th Kyoto Student Festival from January to late March. As a result of the recruitment, it was decided to work by Mr./Ms. Yoshida, a third-year student at Ritsumeikan University. This main visual will be used for various publicity materials.
