The pre-event “One-day Animation Room” for the 19th Kyoto International Student Film Festival will be held on Saturday, September 24th at the Kyoto LoFt store! This event is the first collaboration between Mr./Ms. of Ritsumeikan University’s industry-academia collaboration circle “Ritsumeikan University Loft Club” and the Kyoto International Student Film Festival Executive Committee.
Admission is free. Visitors will also receive a cup of welcome coffee per person. We look forward to seeing you there!

One-day anime room. This year marks the 19th edition of the Kyoto International Student Film Festival’s selection of anime masterpieces. The cute and outlandish anime works are a must-see. And the “Ritsumeikan University Loft Club” is responsible for creating this space. Please look forward to seeing what kind of room it will be!

Report: The 17th Kansai Student Support Officer Roundtable (KSSK)

The 17th Kansai Disability Student Support Officer Roundtable Meeting

On September 15, the Kansai Student Support Officer Roundtable (KSSK) was held at Campus Plaza Kyoto, with the aim of providing a forum for people in charge of supporting students with disabilities at universities in the Kansai region to exchange opinions and interact with each other.
　
In this 17th session, under the theme of “Osaka University’s Support System and Support Practices: Current Situation and Challenges,” Project Associate Professor Naoto Mochizuki and Lecturer Satoko Nakano of the Osaka University Campus Life Support Center provided topics on their efforts and challenges. In the subcommittee that followed, the participants were divided into five groups under the three themes of “Support System,” “Introduction to Support Practice,” and “Support Practice,” and exchanged opinions on how to support students with disabilities based on various issues and case studies faced by each university.　

Perhaps due to the influence of the Act on the Elimination of Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities that came into effect in April 28, 70 people, which exceeded the capacity of 65 people, wanted to participate, indicating a high level of interest in KSSK. In the participant questionnaire, there were comments such as, “The story of Osaka University was very interesting because it showed various realities,” “I found clues to improve the problems of my university’s system,” “I was able to listen more thoroughly to other universities because I had plenty of time for the subcommittee,” and “Supporting students with disabilities is a difficult issue with no answers, but it was good to know that everyone has the same problems.” It was also an opportunity for the participants to gain various insights.

　The feature of KSSK is that it is possible to have frank conversations at the level of the person in charge, regardless of the size of the university or whether or not there is a support system, and to form a network of universities and staff. The next meeting will be held in February~March 2017. Once the content of the event has been decided, it will be announced on the website of the University Consortium Kyoto.

2016 SD Seminar “Student Open Presentation” will be held!

Since 2015, the University Consortium Kyoto has been offering SD seminars with the aim of fostering the next generation of professional staff who will be responsible for the management of universities and junior colleges, mainly at member universities.
In 2016, we welcomed 22 students from 12 member schools and 3 from 3 non-member schools to participate in the second cohort.
At the end of the seven lectures, we will hold a “Student Public Presentation”, and we are accepting those who wish to visit.

The University Consortium Kyoto will hold the “Kansai Disability Student Support Officer Roundtable” (KSSK) as follows, with the aim of exchanging personnel involved in disability support services at universities in the Kansai region.
With the enactment of the Act on the Elimination of Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities in April 2018, each university is required to have a place for further collaboration to improve the capabilities of those in charge of supporting students with disabilities and to provide information beyond the boundaries of the university.

2016 We held a briefing session for
university student recruitment.

On Tuesday, July 26, at 7:00 p.m., a briefing session on this project was held for university students who wish to participate in Marutoku.
Eleven students participated in the event to decide whether or not to participate in the first place, and which dates to participate in at the four high schools after listening to the explanation.
Marutoku has continued the teaching style that began as one of the support for earthquake reconstruction. In other words, instead of a classroom where the teacher stands at the podium and teaches the class, there are university students and local people in addition to the teacher and students, and they learn together.

The University Consortium Kyoto will hold the “Note-Taker Training Course (Beginner Edition)” for students, faculty and staff as follows.
In recent years, many students with hearing impairments have been studying at universities, and there is a need for “information security” in lectures. A typical method of dealing with this is “note-taking,” in which lecture information is written down to students with hearing impairments. Currently, the number of supporters who take notes is insufficient at each university, and increasing the number of supporters is a very important issue for hearing-impaired students studying at universities.
Therefore, this time, in order to let more students, faculty and staff know about note-taking, we will hold a “Note-Taker Training Course” for those who are interested in note-taking (inexperienced) or those who have just started supporting (beginners). On Saturday, July 30th, 2016 Educational IR Forum will be held!

The University Consortium Kyoto will hold the “Educational IR Forum” again this year in collaboration with Liasec Co., Ltd.

In this forum, the director of the Recruit Research Institute for Higher Education will talk about the importance and measures of “university education reform” in the reform of the high school-university connection system in a keynote speech, and in the case study presentations, two universities, the University of Tsukuba and Ritsumeikan University, will introduce the issues that have emerged from the measurement of effectiveness and the efforts to improve education until they actually change classes and education. 【Finished】Kyoto Student Festival Regional Revitalization Project Vol.2! Keihan Railway Charter Event Train Operation! We are looking for passengers!

What is the 2nd Regional Revitalization Project [Kyoto Student Festival Pre-Event in Demachi Yanagi]?

As a new regional revitalization project this year, the Kyoto Student Festival will hold a “Kyoto Student Festival Pre-Event in Demachi Yanagi” on July 9 in collaboration with Keihan Electric Railway Co., Ltd. (President Yoshifumi Kato). To get to the venue of Demachi Yanagi, the “Keihan Railway Charter Event Train” is operated from Nakanoshima Station in Osaka. Comedian “Gin Shari” and Keihan Railway image character “Okeihan (Keiko Demachi Yanagi)” will be invited as special guests to liven up the train with a cappella performances by students and a fashion show.
In the area around Keihan Demachiyanagi Station, which is the last stop, events that can be enjoyed by all generations will be developed, such as special guest talks and stage projects such as the performance of original creations from the Kyoto Student Festival, creating a lively atmosphere throughout the Demachiyanagi area. In addition, after the event, the executive committee will conduct cleanup activities on the Kamo River together with the “Kamo River Beautification Association” as part of the beautification awareness activities, and will interact with the local community. On Saturday the 9th, the Demachi summer tradition “Tanabata Night Store” will also be held from the evening, so please enjoy the summer sunset (the Kyoto Student Festival Executive Committee will also exhibit a craft booth).
Advance registration is required to board the chartered event train. The entire executive committee is waiting for you to board the train and come to the Demachi Yanagi event venue. For details, please see the outline of the event and the contents of the project below.

Place:	・ In the Keihan Railway charter event train (between Nakanoshima Station ~ Demachiyanagi Station) ・Kamogawa Demachi area (near the right bank of the north side of the Kamo Bridge) ・ Konomori (Shimogamo Shrine precinct) ・Demachi Masugata Shopping Street (*18:00~20:00 only)
Entry Fee	free　 * However, a fare (540 yen for adults and 270 yen for children) is required to ride the chartered event train (between Nakanoshima Station ~ Demachiyanagi Station)

Project Details

What is a Regional Revitalization Project?

The Executive Committee, which plans and manages the Kyoto Student Festival, brings together Kyoto students from beyond the boundaries of the university and engages in daily activities with the aim of disseminating “Kyoto as a student city” to society in cooperation with the business community, the government, the local community, and the university, and further revitalizing the Kyoto area and creating new attractions.
This time, the Executive Committee has launched the “Regional Revitalization Project” as a new initiative, and this year we planned pre-events in the Fushimi and Demachiyanagi areas. Through this project, we aim to revitalize the community with the power of students, and to become a festival that is more rooted in the community and loved by the people of Kyoto. The results of this initiative will be connected to the 14th Kyoto Student Festival to be held on October 9th, so please come to the venue (Okazaki Promenade in front of Heian Jingu Shrine).
The University Consortium Kyoto has set the goal of “student growth” in such daily activities, and is providing support aimed at “student independence” that allows students to think and act on their own, and supports the festival in October so that what has been accumulated in the course of activities since the establishment of the executive committee can be maximized at the main festival in October. For encouragement to the Executive Committee, please come to the venue of the Kyoto Student Festival Pre-Event in Demachi Yanagi.
