As part of this effort, with the cooperation of the Ryukoku University Center for the Promotion of Global Education, we have decided to hold a mini-forum on “Global Human Resource Development.”
【Theme】
” What Universities Can Do to Develop Global Human Resources ~From the Experience of Taylor’s University in Malaysia~”
Taking advantage of the opportunity of a staff member of Taylor’s University, a well-known private university in Malaysia, visiting Japan, we planned an opportunity to exchange information on the university’s human resource development and international expansion in anticipation of the era of globalization. The staff members of Taylor’s University who are visiting Japan are in charge of the “Student Support Department” at Japan universities, and their duties are to promote “international collaboration, corporate collaboration, and career support” and have achieved many results. On the day of the event, we will also invite Ms. Mr./Ms. Shiokawa (representative of the Institute for the Future Creation of Universities), who has been in charge of promoting the internationalization of universities at several private universities and national and public universities, to give a lecture on what universities can and should do to develop global human resources (about 45 minutes in the first half), and then we would like to provide ample opportunities for discussion among the participants (45 minutes in the second half) minutes). “Active Learning Exercises: Teaching Methods for Subjects Using English for Remote Learning”
This is an English course for university faculty members who are teaching specialized subjects mainly in English and who are planning to teach them in the future.
Students will learn how to facilitate and give instructions in English classes through role-playing. It will be a participant-led “exercise-type” course that will be utilized for interactive classes and flipped classrooms using ICT.

This seminar is a valuable opportunity to invite Japan IELTS experts to learn an overview of IELTS, explanations of questions for each skill (writing, reading, listening, speaking), scoring criteria, study methods, etc. from IELTS. We are looking forward to the participation of students belonging to member universities, faculty and staff involved in international exchange, and university professors who want to use as inspiration for English classes.

At the 18th Policy Research Exchange Conference from Kyoto held on December 18 last year, Mr./Ms. Hayashida, representative of the Noda Seminar Group C of the Faculty of Policy Studies, Doshisha University, who received both the Kyoto President’s Award and the Japan Public Policy Association Award, appeared on the non-profit (public goods) media “Policy Media” operated by the Policy Analysis Network (public-private partnership policy platform). Purpose of the Tournament
Today, universities and other institutions of higher education are playing a variety of roles, not only in research, educating young people, and producing human resources, but also as “bases of knowledge” that create innovation and as a leader in local culture.
On the other hand, in order to respond to the mounting issues such as the declining birthrate and aging society, global environmental problems, new coronavirus infections, and the shift to a digital society, and to create a sustainable society, it is believed that it can only be realized through exchanges involving the local community, not only with higher education institutions alone, but also with various entities such as higher education institutions, government, and industry.
Therefore, the purpose of this forum is to consider the various forms of collaboration in which the university consortium has been involved in order to create a sustainable community in the future, and to look ahead to the future of the university consortium with the aim of creating new value in the post-corona era.
