Kyoto Student Festival Executive Committee held a “Partner Exchange Meeting”!

We held our first initiative, “Partner Exchange Meeting”!

_MG_0095 _MG_0042

On Wednesday, May 24, we invited people from the government, companies, local communities, and universities who are indebted to the Kyoto Student Festival to participate in the Kyoto Student Festival, and held a partner exchange meeting on Wednesday, May 24.

At the exchange meeting, for those who came to the event, touch the Kyoto flame! In addition, we reported on the details of this year’s pre-event, the highlights of the October Main Festival (the day of the Kyoto Student Festival), the announcement of the main visual, and the collaboration with project partners. In addition, through the “Kyoto Tea Expo,” one of the cultural projects that the Kyoto Student Festival is collaborating with this year, we attended workshops on “Uji Tea Culture and History” and “Learning how to brew tea,” and since the executive committee members became “Premium Tea Ambassadors,” we also entertained visitors with tea brewed by the executive committee members.

We received words of support and encouragement from the government, companies, local communities, and universities who came to the event, and it seems that the students on the executive committee were even more energized. Thank you very much to everyone who attended.

The first pre-event of the 15th Kyoto Student Festival will be held on Sunday, June 4 at Kyoto Gakuen University’s Uzumasa Campus. Everyone, please come to the venue after inviting each other.

Kyoto Student Festival 15th Anniversary Project Started! The first pre-event will be held on Sunday, June 4th in Ukyo Ward!

The Kyoto Student Festival is an opportunity for Kyoto students who transcend the boundaries of universities to collaborate with the business community, government, local communities, and universities, to disseminate “Kyoto as a student city” to society, further revitalize the Kyoto region, and create new attractions.
I am working hard every day to achieve this goal.
This year marks the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Kyoto Student Festival. In Kyoto, which is called “Kyoto City of Students” with the theme of creating “Kyoto Student Culture”, students themselves become “culture”, learn about Kyoto’s culture, and
We will create a new culture with a student-like personality.
By connecting it to the main festival of the Kyoto Student Festival (held on October 8), which is the culmination of these efforts, we aim to make the festival more rooted in Kyoto and loved by people while demonstrating the student’s personality.
The first event, “15th Anniversary Festa in Ukyo feat. Subway Tozai Line 20th Anniversary,” will be held on Sunday, June 4 at Kyoto Gakuen University’s Kyoto Uzumasa Campus.
In addition to the Kyoen merry-go-round, which includes various cultures and holds a 360-degree parade that resembles a merry-go-round, a fashion show by international students in collaboration with the project to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the return of Taisei, and the 20th anniversary of the opening of the Tozai Subway Line.
Mr./Ms. has a lot of project contents that can be enjoyed by everyone from small children to adults, such as a driver experience using a collaborative train simulator.
The University Consortium Kyoto supports the various activities that students carry out on a daily basis, and we will support them so that they can make the most of them at the culmination of the festival (October 8).
The students of the executive committee are also looking forward to seeing you, so please come to the venue.

【Closed】 【For Students】Call for Entries for the 20th Kyoto International Student Film Festival Competition!! (~Until 4/28)

What is the Kyoto International Student Film Festival?

The Kyoto International Student Film Festival is the largest international student film festival in Japan and is now in its 20th year. Films and video works directed by a wide range of student directors, both in Japan and overseas, are solicited in a competition format, and the selected films are screened at the Kyoto International Student Film Festival (scheduled to be held in late November) and the best films are awarded.
Historically, Kyoto is a “movie town” that still inherits the cultural heritage of the early days of Japan cinema, and it is also a “university town and student town” where students account for 10% of the population of Kyoto City. The purpose of this festival is to create a place for international exchange and mutual understanding among student filmmakers and filmmakers, as well as to discover and disseminate new talents who will support the film industry in the future from among the many possibilities of student filmmakers.

What is the Kyoto Student Public Relations Department?

(1) Activities
With the aim of encouraging junior high and high school students nationwide to “study at a university in Kyoto” and “live a student life in Kyoto,” university students studying in Kyoto gather and post articles planned, interviewed, and photographed from the student’s perspective on the website “Kotokare” and SNS to convey “the real charm of Kyoto that I want to convey to junior high and high school students.”

《Operating media》WEB site “Kotokare”

(2) Background of establishment
Kyoto City is home to 38 universities and junior colleges, and approximately 150,000 students, or 10% of the population, are a “university town and student town.” However, as the number of 18-year-olds declines over the long term and competition among universities is expected to intensify further, it is necessary to actively disseminate the appeal of Kyoto as a “university city and student city” to junior high and high school students who will become university students in the future.
Therefore, as a new initiative from the 27th academic year in collaboration with Kyoto City and the University Consortium Kyoto, we have established the “Kyoto Student Public Relations Department” to disseminate to junior and senior high school students nationwide from the perspective of students the “real charm of Kyoto” that university students studying in Kyoto experience while living their student life.

Newsletter “UNIVERSITY CONSORTIUM KYOTO” No.48 has been published! (With the answer to the conso quiz)

The Consortium of Universities in Kyoto’s newsletter “THE CONSORTIUM OF UNIVERSITIES IN KYOTO” No.48 has been published! This time, we would like to introduce the special projects that we are posting.

【Special Feature 1】Introduction of Member Schools: Otani University and Otani University Junior College

As part of the university’s reforms, Otani University and Otani University Junior College announced the concept of making it a multi-faculty for the first time since its opening. In April 2018, the Faculty of Sociology and the Faculty of Education (both tentative names) were added to the traditional Faculty of Letters, and a three-faculty system was envisioned, and in parallel, a long-term comprehensive campus development plan was implemented based on the “Five Basic Policies” indicated in the Grand Design. In this interview, we interviewed President Yasushi Kikoshi about the background of the university reform, the aim of the grand design, and his expectations for the University Consortium Kyoto.

【Special Feature 2】University Consortium Kyoto “Academic City Collaborative University” Promotion Project, Regional Collaboration Initiatives

We would like to introduce the “Gakumachi Collaborative University” Promotion Project (a collaborative project with Kyoto City) and the “University and Regional Collaboration Summit” (nickname×: Gachi Link), which began in 2016.

【Special Feature 3】University Consortium Kyoto “Introduction of International Business Initiatives”
Presentation of Kyoto in English / Paid Internship for International Students

In 2015, the University Consortium Kyoto established the International Student Study Kyoto Network, which serves as the secretariat, to further strengthen its efforts to attract and support international students.
I would like to introduce two of our various initiatives.

In addition, the University Consortium Kyoto’s support project for students with disabilities, a collection of case studies of community development, initiatives for each project in 2017, and information information are also posted.

(1) Kimono obi (2) Mari (3) Möbius ring

Consologo
The answer was: (2) Mari!

The logo was created by a student who belonged to the Faculty of Arts, Osaka Seikei University.
In 2004, this work was selected as the grand prize out of a large number of applications, and was adopted as the logo.

◇ Producer’s comment
We created it with the image of a maroon that makes Kyoto smell internationally.
Since ancient times, everyone has kicked each other, tied the knot, and enjoyed each other, and we thought it would be the best way to create an image of Kyoto’s regional cooperation.
I thought that the “circle” of collaboration was a concise and clear image of university collaboration and education where it is important for everyone to “connect” with each other.

The beauty of Kyoto = “Wheel” is to eliminate unnecessary things and pursue things that are simple and meet needs. And above all, the charm of “Japanese” is that it is “beautiful to look at”.
We calculated the color rendering to make the colors of Kyoto look more beautiful, and valued the instantaneous beauty.
