Kyoto University Genius Table in Kyoto

They regularly hold social gatherings over lunch called the Genius Table. The venue for this exchange meeting is with the cooperation of places where you can feel the culture of Kyoto, such as temples and shrines and traditional craft workshops, and bento boxes, which are unique to Japan, are prepared for meals.
Foreign tourists who will be guests are invited to come to the event, especially those who are active in their own countries or around the world, and the participants are Kyoto citizens and students.

We interviewed the person in charge and analyzed the current situation while considering the characteristics of the facility. (1) Project to plan a “Satoyama Experience Program”
We will plan a program for young people living in the town to think about how to live, such as cutting out the charm and issues that they have felt through the nature of Kitayama, which is a characteristic of Kitayama, and the way the people who live there, from the perspective of young people, and conveying it to young people of the same age (mainly in their 20s).
(2) Jidai Festival Support Project
In cooperation with Heian Kosha No. 8, one of the civic organizations responsible for the Jidai Festival, we will help with costume preparation, musical instrument performances, and training for the procession, and will conduct “Jidai Matsuri PR from the student’s perspective” at each university in the city to convey the appeal of Jidai Matsuri to students.
(3) Youth Town Development Staff “Team Town Star” Project
In cooperation with the Kyoto City Youth Service Association and the Kyoto City Shimogyo Youth Activity Center, we will participate in community development activities, such as surveying shopping streets in the Shimogyo area and holding events in the area.
