The state in which education management is smoothly implemented is defined as an organization that sets clear achievement goals, evaluation indicators, and evaluation criteria, conducts work (education) while always being aware of these goals, and evaluates results according to evaluation indicators and standards, which is generally referred to as the PDCA cycle.
In the first session of this year’s Kyoto FDer School, we will explain how to set the four achievement targets, action targets, evaluation indicators, and evaluation criteria that should be determined in the “PDCA” cycle plan, and review the ideal state of our organization.

We will reaffirm the “meaning” and “role” of the current state of “teaching and learning management” in university education, and discuss how to build an effective teaching and learning management system based on case studies from the member schools of the University Consortium Kyoto, taking into account regional characteristics, scale, and form of establishment.

In the presentation of the topic, he introduced practical examples of the “Opinion Exchange Meeting with Faculties” (commonly known as “Faculty Tours”), an initiative of the Center for Educational Support and Research and Development at Kyoto Sangyo University, and talked about the reasons and circumstances for starting the undergraduate tours, the achievements and challenges, and the satisfaction and growth of the staff working on them.

In the group work, the participants were divided into three groups and discussed “the current status and challenges of intramural collaboration” and “the current issues of collaboration between the teaching profession.”

Each group commented, “It is important for teachers and staff to work together while recognizing each other’s roles and communicating sufficiently, rather than working alone,” and “It is necessary to set specific issues and goals for consideration and for each faculty and staff member to work together to achieve them.” Opinions such as these were expressed.
