Outline of the event
■The 16th Kyoto Student Festival Theme
The Kyoto Student Festival, which began in 2003, was successfully completed for the 16th time. This festival is planned and operated mainly by the Kyoto Student Festival Executive Committee, which is made up of students from Kyoto, and is unique in that it is backed by Kyoto Prefecture, Kyoto City, economic organizations, universities, and local communities under an “all-Kyoto” system.
In addition to planning and managing the Kyoto Student Festival to be held in October, the Executive Committee is also actively engaged in exchange activities throughout the year, such as exchange projects using the original creative odori “Kyo Flame Sodefure!” born from the festival, and participation in local events.
In 2018, the 16th edition of the festival, under the theme of “Connecting Today,” we have been working hard to connect the Kyoto Student Festival with all of Kyoto, to convey the charm of Kyoto to the whole country and the world, and to connect it to the future of the Kyoto Student Festival, which will continue to be held for the 20th and 30th editions.

Implementation Report
On Sunday, October 7th, the 16th Kyoto Student Festival was successfully concluded with a great success and many visitors.
Until just before this year’s festival, we were worried about whether or not to hold it due to the typhoon.
On the day of the event, we were surrounded by hot autumn weather and weather, and we were able to carry out all the programs without a hitch.
We would like to express our gratitude to everyone who came to the event and to all those who supported us in various ways in holding this festival.
As a member of the Kyoto Student Festival Organizing Committee, the Foundation provides support for the Kyoto Student Festival, as well as a year-round support system, viewing the year-long activities as opportunities for student growth. In the visitor survey, there were some areas where the year-round efforts did not directly attract customers. However, I feel that the one-year activity experience has led to the students’ confidence and learning. As we celebrate the 17th anniversary, we will continue to develop a system to support the Executive Committee. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who came to the event and to all those who supported us in various ways in holding this project.
