Business Overview
The Kyoto Student Festival is a major event that has been held every October since 2003 in the Okazaki Promenade area in front of Heian Jingu Shrine, and has attracted more than 100,000 visitors. It is a student-produced festival that can only be done by university students studying in Kyoto, a student town where 10% of the population is students.
This year marks the 18th year of the Kyoto Student Festival, which has moved from the Heisei era to the Reiwa era, and we aim to continue to be loved by all of Kyoto while deepening cooperation with companies, universities, governments, and the community. On the day of the Kyoto Student Festival, we will work hard every day so that we can captivate the audience with various events every year, such as odori and music, food, sports, and art.
About the theme
We want to provide everyone involved in the Kyoto Student Festival with a place to pursue and communicate the possibilities of their dreams, and through the activities of the Kyoto Student Festival, we want to create opportunities to connect the people and places of Kyoto, and to unite Kyoto.
With the two keywords of “dreams” and “connections” in mind, the 18th Kyoto Student Festival is connected to dreams, connected by dreams, and connected by dreams. We aim to be such a festival.

We have been preparing for the 18th Kyoto Student Festival to be held on Sunday, October 11, 2020. However, in light of the current situation of the spread of the new coronavirus infection, we have decided that it will be difficult to hold the festival in the area of Heian Jingumae and Okazaki Promenade as usual because we cannot guarantee the safety of all people involved, including visitors, performers, and executive committee members.
And it is precisely because of this situation that we have been preparing to create a place where students can shine and opportunities for many people to have fun. After much deliberation, it has been decided that the 18th Kyoto Student Festival will be held online for the first time in 18 years.
Outline of the project
Kyoflame Sodefure, which is held every year! In addition to changing the format of popular content such as showcasings, we will also prepare new projects that can only be developed online, and will implement two types of projects: “viewing” and “participation”.
The 18th Kyoto Student Festival Annual Activities
The Kyoto Student Festival aims to be a “festival” that is loved by the community and rooted in the community, and will carry out daily activities throughout the year together with the local community. This year, with the pre-event being held online, we will continue to hold online events that will attract the attention of many people, without changing the original purpose of the project, which is to focus on eye-catching public relations.
1. The 18th Kyoto Student Festival Online Pre-Event
Purpose of the project
By making the event online, we aim to provide an opportunity not only for the people of Kyoto, but also for people all over the country, who have not been able to target us until now, to learn about the Kyoto Student Festival.
In addition, this event aims to increase the number of participants in the online festival by actively utilizing the official website of the Kyoto Student Festival, which will be the source of the video distribution of the online main festival, and various social networking sites such as YouTube. By holding multiple events that target a wide range of generations and specialize in public relations, we aim to raise awareness of the Kyoto Student Festival and invite many people to come to the Kyoto Student Festival on Sunday, October 11, 2020.
