Business Overview
The Kyoto Student Festival is a major event that has been held every October since 2003 in the Okazaki Promenade area in front of Heian Jingu Shrine, and has attracted more than 100,000 visitors. It is a student-produced festival that can only be done by university students studying in Kyoto, a student town where 10% of the population is students.
The 18th Kyoto Student Festival (held on October 11, 2020) was held online for the first time in history, with a total of more than 27,000 views on YouTube and more than 39,000 PVs on the special website.
On November 25, 2020, the Executive Committee of the 19th Kyoto Student Festival was newly established, and the theme of the 19th Kyoto Student Festival was also decided. I would like to pursue the form of a festival that can only be done in Kyoto, a city of students, and enliven Kyoto.
The 19th Kyoto Student Festival Theme
About the theme
Kyoto is a region that has preserved its ancient traditions. However, we are standing at the turn of the times, with the spread of the new coronavirus infection and the demand for a new way of life. Through this festival, we want to connect the culture that has been passed down so far with the culture that is born from the new normal. And by having people come into contact with the culture, we want to protect and connect all Kyoto culture to the future.

Outline of the project
At the 19th Kyoto Student Festival, we are thinking of a festival that suits the With Corona era so that the Kyoto Student Festival will continue to be a festival loved not only by people in Kyoto but also by people all over the country. In order to prevent the spread of new coronavirus infections, it is scheduled to be held in a hybrid format that combines online and offline. Taking advantage of the advantages of online and offline, we aim to create a new festival that can be participated in and impressed anywhere in the country.

The 19th Kyoto Student Festival Annual Activities
The Kyoto Student Festival aims to be a “festival” that is loved by the community and rooted in the community, and will carry out daily activities throughout the year together with the local community.
Community Exchange Activities
Purpose of the project
The Executive Committee interacts with the Okazaki area, the venue of the Kyoto Student Festival, and the local people who have been connected with us through our activities so far, to express our gratitude on a daily basis and build cooperative relationships for the festival. Last year, activities such as summer festivals and night patrols were canceled, but this year, while thoroughly implementing measures against infectious diseases, we would like to cooperate and give back to the local people through trial and error to see if we can create opportunities to interact with the local people who have been indebted to us so far. We will hold events that many people can easily participate in to create opportunities for exchange and revitalize the community.
Activities to disseminate the original creation of “Kyo Flame Sodefure!”
