11th Concept
Ten years ago, in 2003, the Kyoto Student Festival was born
With the support and cooperation of many people, 10 years have passed since its birth. We will continue to cherish the “connections” we have built up so far and inherit the tradition of the Kyoto Student Festival.
The Beginning of a New Decade
Looking ahead to the next 10 years, we aim to continue to grow the Kyoto Student Festival, take on unprecedented challenges, and lay the foundation for the Kyoto Student Festival, which will be loved for many years to come.

Annual Ongoing Activities
Tohoku Project Vol.1 “Tsunagu ~KYOTOHOKU~”
May 3, 2013 (Fri) ~ May 5, 2013 (Sun) Fukushima, Miyagi
In this project, which was started with the goal of “delivering smiles and energy to the people of Tohoku, seeing and learning about the “now” of Tohoku with their own eyes, and disseminating what they learned in Tohoku to Kyoto, a total of 93 people from 19 universities (24 executive committee members and 69 odori members) visited Fukushima City, Nihonmatsu City, Sendai City, Matsushima City, and Natori City in Miyagi Prefecture. and interacted with the Fukushima University Disaster Volunteer Center.
Tohoku Project Vol.2 “Convey ~KYOTOHOKU~”
Sunday, July 14, 2013 AEON MALL KYOTO
What we actually saw, heard, and learned through our visit to Tohoku in May, as well as the current situation in Tohoku, was divided into four categories: “Exhibitions,” “Crafts,” “Food,” and “Odori,” and the charms of Kyoto and Tohoku were disseminated from various perspectives. In the craft project, the children of Taku Mr./Ms. made windmills and rising-up koboshi, which are traditional crafts of Fukushima Prefecture, and in the food project, they provided zuda mochi and dondonyaki.
Career exchange event for high school students

Kyoto University “Learning” ForumJune 9, 2013 (Sun) Ritsumeikan University Biwako Kusatsu Campus
Kyoto University “Learning” ForumOctober 26, 2013 (Sat) Ryukoku University Fukakusa Campus
For high school students, we provided an opportunity to expand their image of the university by disseminating the appeal of Kyoto universities and introducing university life by the executive committee members themselves. In addition to fostering an image of going on to higher education, it was also an opportunity for university students themselves to think about their own future.
Activities to disseminate the original creative odori “Kyo Flame Sodefure!”
We held more than 500 presentations and visiting classes annually at various educational institutions, welfare facilities, and community events. This year, Kyo Flame Sode-Fure! The first adult (parent and child) team was born from the Odori class, and we were able to provide a place for intergenerational interaction between participants, as well as practicing odori.

Student Support
Student Growth Programs
The University Consortium Kyoto supports students’ daily activities based on the principle of “creating their own initiative,” and hopes that the “interactions” and “experiences” with a wide variety of people that students experience through their independent activities will lead to new “awareness” and “learning” that will lead to their growth.
We are working to create a system that promotes the growth of students by promoting the following support methods, adopting the PDCA cycle method, which emphasizes the smooth execution of activities, the improvement of the business, and the continuous development of the business, with the goal of smoothly carrying out the activities, improving the business, and continuing the development of the business, by adopting the PDCA cycle method, which emphasizes the activities of students as a single project, working toward a single goal as a team, and producing results as a team.
PDCA Cycle at the Kyoto Student Festival
1. Planning period (November ~ May): Gathering information, giving awareness, planning
2. Trial period (May ~ September): Implementation of pre-project (medium-scale project imitating the main festival)
3. Verification period (July~August): Mid-term review meeting
4. Implementation period (October): Implementation of this project
5. Dissemination of results (around October ~ November): Implementation of post-mortem review meetings and results debriefing sessions
Mid-term review meeting (verification period)
Sunday, August 25, 2013 / Campus Plaza Kyoto
Lecturer: Masami Mori (Professor, Faculty of Social Sciences, Kyoto Bunkyo University)
With the main festival in October imminent, we created an opportunity to check the progress of the team and the whole team, to reflect on whether we have lost sight of our own goals and direction, and to reaffirm the need for team collaboration through sharing within the department and group presentations.
Post-mortem review meeting (dissemination of results)
Sunday, October 20, 2013 Campus Plaza Kyoto
Lecturer: Masami Mori (Professor, Faculty of Social Sciences, Kyoto Bunkyo University)
At the end of the festival, each member of the organizing committee was given an opportunity to reflect on the significance of the activities and initiatives at the Kyoto Student Festival, what they learned from them, and how to apply them to the next stage through group work.
Implementation Report
This year marks the 11th edition of the Kyoto Student Festival, and based on the concept of “interwoven connections and new challenges,” we took on unprecedented challenges with the aim of becoming a Kyoto Student Festival that will continue to grow further over the next 10 years, while cherishing the “connections” that have been built up so far.
This year, we established the “Annual Exchange Department” and have been putting more effort into year-round activities than ever before. We also conducted the Tohoku Project as part of our charity activities. In addition, we have taken the first step toward internationalization by launching the “Internationalization Promotion Project,” a long-term project that does not end in a single fiscal year.
As mentioned above, this year, we have been involved with many people in various activities throughout the year in addition to this festival, and by weaving these “connections” into this festival, we have developed our business with the aim of making it an even more attractive and long-lasting Kyoto Student Festival, and at the same time raising its profile.
I would like to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who came to the venue and to all the parties involved who supported us in various ways in holding this festival.
