Theme: The Philosophy of the Report of the Central Education Council and the New Course of Study
Speaker: Tadahiko Yasuhiko (Distinguished Visiting Professor, Kanagawa University / Professor Emeritus, Nagoya University)
While contrasting the philosophy or purpose of the report of the Central Education Council in Heisei 20 with the resulting revision of the course of study for elementary, junior high, and high schools, the basic characteristics of the revised course of study mainly at the high school level will be clarified with the philosophy aimed at the school level at the core, and the direction of the government’s future policy at the present time will be outlined on issues related to connection and collaboration with universities, and information will be provided for the symposium.

Implementation Report

In the first part, after the lecture, a symposium was held, where reports were made from the standpoints of high schools, universities, and society, and questions were answered with comments from the participants.

This time, a new “discussion” was set up in Part 1 as a place for participants to exchange opinions, and they were divided into Group A (Career Development) and Group B (High School-University Connection) to engage in group work.

The second part was divided into four subcommittees, with case reports and discussions. After the forum, an information exchange meeting and reception were held to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Kyoto High School-University Collaborative Research Council. Approximately 100 speakers and participants of the forum, as well as officers, committee members, and related parties of the Kyoto High School-University Collaborative Research Council, participated in the event.
