Theme_2012

One year and six months have passed since the Great East Japan Earthquake (2011). Needless to say, it is the strong desire of the people of the region as a whole to revive the disaster-stricken areas of the Tohoku and Kanto regions as future-oriented communities with hope and vitality. The reconstruction and reconstruction of the region requires more than ever the involvement of students and citizens who think and act under the guise of public purposes.
The Forum will develop a program that aligns with the theme of “Creating Vibrant and Attractive Communities.” In the keynote speech, people of various ages, including university officials, junior high and high school students, university students, and citizens, will be convinced of “hope” and “courage” through a lecture by Professor Junichiro Kawaguchi of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, who led the return of Hayabusa to Earth. In the symposium, we will consider the ideal form of a citizen who is a behavioral citizen who aims to “create an attractive local community” and “improve the quality of life (QOL)” through efforts to rebuild disaster-stricken areas. In the breakout sessions, we will discuss the role of the university consortium in the creation of local communities. In addition, we will share examples of the distinctive activities of the university consortium and disseminate the results.
