2014 The 17th Kyoto International Student Film Festival

Business Overview

Kyoto International Student Film Festival is the largest international student film festival in Japan run by students. The competition program focuses on soliciting and judging films and video works from students in Japan and around the world, and screening the winning works, as well as various other special and collaborative projects. We aim to be a place for interaction that transcends film genres, nationalities, and ages.

Outline of the event

Concept “Jumping Film Festival”

Kyoto International Student Film Festival_Top Page Slider Image

1. Through exchanges between domestic and overseas artists, we will learn about the differences in the process, environment, and perspectives of creating works, and create a place where artists can talk about their knowledge of their own works and videos, thereby stimulating their future production activities. We aim to be a film festival that can lay the foundation for international filmmakers to play an active role as international filmmakers by discovering and nurturing the talents of filmmakers.

2. By creating a place where the executive committee members bring the artists and audiences closer together, provide projects for a wide range of audiences, and convey the appeal of the videos produced by the students, we aim to convey to the audience the fun and high quality of the works and deepen their interest in the student artists and their works.

Implementation Report

summary

image (1)The 17th Kyoto International Student Film Festival was held at Kyoto Cinema on November 22 ~ 28, 2014. During the exhibition, a total of 13 programs and 28 films were screened, and a total of about 520 visitors attended. In addition to screenings of works created by student artists, each program also featured a talk show by the executive committee members and student writers, and talked about the behind-the-scenes stories behind the production that cannot be understood just by watching the works.
In addition, many artists from Japan and overseas visited Japan, and opportunities were provided to interact with the executive committee members, and one of the largest student film festivals in Japan, created by the executive committee members and artists together, ended with great success. I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who came to the venue, to the student artists who submitted their works to this festival, and to all those who supported the festival in various ways.
