2011 The 14th Kyoto International Student Film Festival

Outline of the event

Concept “Encounter”

kisfvf_2010_1

This year’s competition attracted a total of 254 works from Japan and abroad. Each member of the executive committee has their own judging criteria, and after many discussions, they carefully face each work one by one and judge it. The 15 winning films were selected from the 254 films. The works are colorful and the word “colorful” is appropriate. Mr./Ms. are filled with new encounters in these 15 works, such as things that make you smile and things that make you get closer to the truth the more you think about them.
All members of the executive committee hope that all visitors to this festival will be able to experience some kind of “encounter” through the films.

Implementation Report

The 14th Kyoto International Student Film Festival was held at Kyoto Cinema on Saturday, November 19 ~ Friday, November 25, 2011. A total of 21 programs were held during the exhibition, and 688 guests attended, including 119 for the pre-event and 569 for the main festival.

In each program, in addition to screenings of works by student artists, a talk show was also held by the executive committee members and student artists, and behind the scenes stories related to the production, which could not be understood just by watching the works, were unfolded, and the students were able to feel the fun of the works from the perspective of the students, which is a little different from box office films.

In addition, many artists from Japan and overseas visited Japan, and opportunities were provided to interact with the executive committee members, and one of the largest student film festivals in Japan, created by the executive committee members and artists together, ended with great success.

I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who came to the venue, to the student artists who submitted their works to this festival, and to all those who supported the festival in various ways.
