FY2023

Business Overview

In light of the Act on the Elimination of Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities, which came into effect in April 2016, the University Consortium Kyoto is working on projects related to support for students with disabilities, which are in high demand from member schools. This time, we will hold a workshop as follows as “Study Support for Students with Disabilities (Basic Course)”. We look forward to your participation.

Outline of the event

2022 Thematic Workshops

Theme: Study Support for Students with Disabilities (Basic Course)

1. Purpose
This training is mainly held for staff in the field of academic affairs and student affairs, which is a problem for students with disabilities, which many universities and other institutions need to deal with. Specialized departments and specialized supporters often play a central role in dealing with students with disabilities, but depending on the size of the organization, it may be difficult to build such a support system. In addition, even if a specialized department is established, the department that plays a central role in education and student support at the university may be required to actively respond to students with disabilities in their respective roles.
In April 2024, the “Revised Act on the Elimination of Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities” is scheduled to come into effect, and reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities will be legally obligated at both public and private universities. At such a time, the purpose of this program is to acquire basic knowledge of support for students with disabilities at the university, and to exchange practical opinions and information that can be used in daily work.
