Outline of the event

The 15th Policy Research Exchange Conference from Kyoto

This year, the 15th year since 2005, the theme of the presentation is “Urban Policy in General,” and we are looking for a wide range of research presentations on policies to solve the issues faced by cities from the perspectives of various fields such as the environment, economy, culture, community, and welfare. Why don’t you deepen exchanges among students not only at universities and graduate schools with policy departments, but also beyond the boundaries of universities and seminars, and to propose policies and disseminate information to the local community about the results of your daily research and learning?
We look forward to hearing from Mr./Ms.!

Tournament held on Sunday, December 15

On Sunday, December 15, the 15th Policy Research Exchange Conference from Kyoto was held at the Wakaokakan on the Fukakusa Campus of Ryukoku University.

This year marked the 15th year of the conference, in which students and graduate students who conduct research to identify and solve problems and issues facing cities present their daily research results, and more than 500 visitors have visited.
Sixty-eight groups were divided into 10 subcommittees to give oral presentations, and both the students presenting and the students asking questions were serious. The enthusiastic question-and-answer sessions and advice given by the judges seemed to have given the students hints for deepening their research in the future.

Sixteen groups participated in the panel presentations. Through their research presentations, many students deepened their exchanges with students from other universities that they do not usually have the opportunity to meet.

The theme of the 15th conference was “AI and Our Changing Future,” and science writer Kaoru Takeuchi Mr./Ms. was invited to give a lecture. We provided an opportunity for humans and AI to coexist, and to think about how to maximize the best of both humans and AI, what abilities only humans have, what they can do, and where they can make use of the strengths of AI.

And the award ceremony. When the names of the winners were announced in the hall, there were roars and cheers, and the winners shared their thoughts on the presentation of their research as well as their impressions.
The number of entries is increasing year by year, and this competition is attracting more and more attention. From the expressions and words of the participating students, it was clear that they had a great opportunity to learn and interact with each other this year.
