Recruitment of Companies Accepting Internships for International Students in 2021 (Organizer: International Student Study Kyoto Network)

2021 Internship Recruitment for International Students

International Student Study Kyoto Network (Secretariat: University Consortium Kyoto)

Since 2016, the International Student Study Kyoto Network (Secretariat: Kyoto International Business Department, University Consortium) has been conducting an internship program for international students living in the Kyoto area. In this internship program, we are looking for companies that can accept international students. We are looking forward to receiving applications from Kyoto companies that are interested in hiring international students in the future.

*For more information on the International Student Study Kyoto Network, please refer to https://www.studykyoto.jp/ja/aboutus/ here.
* Flyer for accepting companies

Purpose and Features

This program provides opportunities for international students living in the Kyoto area who are aiming to find employment at Japan companies to deepen their understanding of the business content and attractiveness of companies in the Kyoto area (especially mid-tier enterprises and small and medium-sized enterprises) through work experience, and aims to promote their motivation to recruit and find employment through mutual understanding between international students and companies, and to establish international students in the Kyoto area after employment. For host companies, there are various benefits such as revitalizing the company by accepting international students, accumulating experience in accepting foreign employees, and PR to international students. In addition, for international students, understanding the corporate culture and work style in Japan will help them acquire the ability to find employment and play an active role in Japan.

Eligible companies

Companies and organizations that have a head office or office in Kyoto Prefecture (in the event of a large number of applications, priority will be given to small and medium-sized enterprises).

* As a general rule, about 40 companies headquartered in the Kyoto area can accept employees at their offices in the Kyoto area.
* We are looking forward to receiving applications from companies that agree with the “Appendix: Ideas that we would like to ask the host companies to agree with”.

* We ask that you consider accepting 1~3 international students per company. If you are not matched with an international student, we do not ask you to accept them unreasonably.

Eligible International Students

Students who are enrolled in a school that is a member of the International Student Study Kyoto Network and are scheduled to graduate or complete the course of their school in March 2023. (Those who wish to graduate or complete in March or September 2022 are not excluded.)

* Selection and matching will be conducted by interview.

* Includes those enrolled in vocational schools and those enrolled in Japanese schools who have graduated or completed higher education institutions in their home countries.

* For participating international students, we will check their Japanese language proficiency and motivation to work in Japan, and conduct preliminary training on business etiquette and compliance before dispatching.

[2019度実績]Dispatch of 27 international students to 17 host companies

[2020度実績] Dispatch of 6 international students to 5 host companies

Period of employment

You will be provided with the opportunity to experience work during the period of mid-August 2021 ~ late September 2021.

* For details such as the actual period of employment, such as activities outside the status of residence of international students, please consult with the person in charge of the temporary staffing agency.

Acceptance Criteria

Please note that the summer vacation period varies depending on the school to which the international student belongs, so please consult with the coordinator

Company Burden: Dispatch fee (¥1,160 per hour), Student transportation fee (up to ¥1,000 per day) * Once the dispatched international student is confirmed, a worker dispatch contract will be concluded with the management contractor (dispatch company) of this program. As a result, various procedures such as social insurance are not required at the host company, and the procedures are extremely simple compared to direct employment by the host company.
